Corrupt Illinois Governor
January 1, 2009
“Power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely.” Lord (John Emerich Edward Dalberg) ActonIllinois governor Rod Blagojevich has been in the headlines for what now seems like months! The other day he captured more headlines with the news he actually made an appointment to the seat he is accused of trying to selling to the highest bidder. The fact that his man who is under such a large cloud of suspicion is able to make such an appointment is completely unbelievable.
I do not care whether this man is the next Ab Lincoln, I do not care if he is not mentioned in any FBI file, it is not right. It proves how partisan our country has come to be. Under the circumstances in Illinois they should hold a special election, oh wait we can’t do that because the democrats may loss a seat. So many people made comments saying that no matter who was appointed they could not be accepted due to the situation surrounding the appointment. Then he goes and appointments another African-American individual and now these same people are saying that the appointee needs to be accepted!
A person should not receive these seats because of their last name, their race, or how much money they have. The people taking these seats should be there because of their qualifications and that the people feel that this individual can make a difference; this individual can really help our state.
